Adoption Process
Finding your cat is a fun and exciting process.
It’s also something that we take seriously here at Animal House. We find our cats forever families by helping you find the right feline for your family and your lifestyle. Learn about the steps in our adoption process below. Please note that all potential adopters must live within a 60 mile radius of our adoption center.
Our adoption fee for all cats is $125. Each and every cat receives a full veterinary examination and care. They are also spayed/neutered and current on all shots. We will inform you of any known medical concerns.
1. Reach Out
Check out the wonderful cats we have available on Petfinder or Adopt A Pet. Be sure to read about their purr-sonalities so you can begin to get an idea of who might be right for you. You can email us at AHcatadoption@gmail.com to start the application process, and check out the map for our location.
2. Matchmaking
Work with an adoption coordinator to find the cat that is right for you.
This process may involve meeting with numerous cats, or even making more than one visit to Animal House. You and your new cat will live together for a lifetime, so this step is important!
3. Vet Appointment
We'll conduct a final checkup on your purr-fect companion, making sure nails are trimmed and they are all ready to go...All while you prepare your home for your new cats arrival.
4. Home Visit
The adoption is then completed during a home visit. An adoption coordinator will work with you to arrange a time to bring the cat to your home. At this time, paperwork is finalized and the $125 adoption fee is collected.
5. Purrfect Ending
Live happily ever after with your new feline friend, with Animal House as a resource to you both as any questions arise.
